Real Roofing Standards. Brought to RV Owners.
Our founder's own RV roof failed just four years in. When dealers dismissed the leak because of missing caulking records and lack of maintenance, he decided to bring real, no-nonsense commercial roofing standards to RV owners.
30+ Years of Commercial Roofing Experience
Before RV Roof Renewal existed, our founder spent three decades doing commercial roofing across Minnesota β projects ranged from the Mall of America to high-rise roofs in downtown Minneapolis. The materials, techniques, and standards on those buildings are dramatically more durable than anything used in the RV industry. The thinking that started this company was simple: why doesn't anyone bring those standards to RVs?
What We Believe
- Repair before replace. Most roofs that get quoted as a full replacement can actually be repaired permanently β and we'll tell you when that's the right call.
- No annual caulking. If a roofing system requires yearly maintenance to stay sealed, it's the wrong system. Period.
- Honest assessments. If your roof is fine, we tell you. We'd rather have you call us in five years than do work you don't need.
- Mobile service. You shouldn't have to load and tow your RV across the state to get a roof done.
- Backed in writing. 20-year warranty + lifetime leak-free guarantee on covered systems. Documented before we leave.
By the Numbers
Why Commercial Roofing Experience Actually Matters for RVs
Commercial flat roofing and RV roofing have more in common than most people realize β both are low-slope membranes exposed to UV, freeze-thaw cycles, thermal expansion, and foot traffic. The difference is in the standards. Commercial roofing systems are designed to last 20β30 years with minimal maintenance. Factory RV roofing systems are designed to be affordable at the assembly line and resealed every year.
When you bring a commercial roofing background to an RV, you don't just use better products β you think differently about every detail. You know the butyl tape under a vent flange is more important than the lap sealant on top of it. You know a properly flashed penetration doesn't need to be re-caulked annually. You know the difference between a maintenance material and a structural one.
That's the gap we fill. Most RV shops are working from a dealer-trained, factory-parts mindset. We're working from a 30-year commercial roofing background applied to a smaller substrate.
How We're Different From a Dealership or Mobile Repair Shop
Typical Dealer Service Center
- Uses factory-grade lap sealants and patch materials
- Sends you home with a caulking schedule
- Charges shop rates β you tow, they quote
- 1-year warranty (if any) on labor
- No commercial membrane experience
RV Roof Renewal
- Commercial-grade TPO, EPDM, and silicone systems
- No annual maintenance required on covered systems
- Mobile β we come to your driveway, storage lot, or campground
- Up to 20-year warranty + lifetime leak-free guarantee
- 30+ years of commercial flat roofing background
What We Use β And Why It Lasts
The materials we specify come from the same commercial roofing supply chain used on hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings β not from the RV parts aisle. Specifically:
- 45-mil TPO and EPDM membrane β The commercial standard. Most RV factory roofs use 35-mil or thinner. Heavier mil means more durability, better puncture resistance, and longer membrane life.
- Commercial reinforced flashing tape β Heat-activated, no exposed adhesive edge. Not consumer-grade butyl tape that peels off in cold weather.
- Multi-layer silicone coating systems β Rated for 20+ years of UV exposure. Reflective surface lowers interior temperature by 10β15Β°F on sunny days.
- Proper butyl tape under every fixture β The original seal, not just the visible surface sealant. This is what actually keeps water from getting under flanges.
We document every material we use β brand, spec, lot number β and hand that documentation to you before we leave. Your warranty paperwork lists exactly what was installed and when.
Insurance Claims β 100+ Filed and Counting
About a third of the jobs we do involve insurance. Hail, wind damage, falling trees, road debris β Minnesota's weather creates RV roof damage on a regular schedule. We've worked through every major carrier: State Farm, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, American Family, USAA, and others.
What most RV owners don't know is that documentation quality determines claim outcome. Adjusters are looking for specific things: date of loss documentation, damage photos with measurements, material specs, and itemized repair estimates in the format their system expects. We know exactly what that looks like because we've done it more than 100 times.
If you have storm or hail damage, call us before you call your adjuster. We can document it properly the first time and help walk the claim through to completion.
Statewide Mobile Service β No Towing Required
We serve the entire state of Minnesota. That means we come to your driveway in Minneapolis, your storage lot in Rochester, your campsite in Brainerd, or your property in Detroit Lakes. We carry everything we need β the truck is a full mobile roofing operation.
For winter emergencies, we offer pickup and delivery: we collect your RV, complete the repair in a controlled environment, and return it ready for spring. You don't have to tow anything or drop it at a shop.
Our primary service hubs include: Minneapolis-St. Paul metro, Rochester, Duluth, St. Cloud, Brainerd, Alexandria, Willmar, Detroit Lakes, Mankato, Hutchinson, and Albert Lea. For a full list of cities, see our service area page.
